Belgian fries come from a medieval-style counter, and don’t try to tell us otherwise. And on Monday, the fryers were hot again at Pommes Frites, which made its triumphant return 14 months after the Second Avenue gas explosion. Their new spot, at 128 Macdougal St. (they’ve been priced out of the East Village like the rest of us), does come with some additional square footage and equipment to make all the crispy frites and a wonderfully ridiculous selection of 36 sauces. They’re not quite at full steam yet, so that 2 a.m. fry fix may have to wait, but the goods are still very much on point:

The new neighborhood is not too shabs, either.
Even the health-conscious set made an exception.
Bring all your friends, the new location has more fryers!
If you want all the sauces, have all the sauces.
