A brother and sister were on a phone at the Brussels airport talking to their family in New York when the line went dead after an explosion, and they have not been heard from again.
Siblings Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski have not communicated with their family since Tuesday’s bombing at the Brussels airport, the New York Post reported, adding that friends and family have now taken to social media to help find the pair, who were at the airport for their return trip to New York.
Karen Van Suijdam, a friend of the Pinczowskis, posted on Facebook about the missing duo, theDaily Mailstated in a related report.
“We are still looking for Alexander Pinczowski and his sister Sascha,” Van Suijdam was quoted by the Daily Mail. “'They are missing in the Brussels airport attack since this morning. Please contact if you have seen them or know about their whereabouts. Please share!!!”
Nine other Americans have reportedly been injured in the Brussels bombings, sources told the Post, including an Air Force lieutenant colonel and his family and three Mormon missionaries, one of whom had been present at the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
