A jury found an NYPD officer guilty of manslaughter for firing into an unlit stairwell, killing an unarmed man
Twenty-seven-year-old New York cop Peter LiangshotGurley on Nov. 20, 2014 during a routine patrol in East New York’s Pink Houses.
Liangwasaccused of accidentally shooting Gurley and then not tending to the injured man as he bled to death from a ricocheting bullet fired by Liang.
Manslaughter can carry up to 15 years in prison.
Sentence will be handed down at a future hearing.
