Wake held for NYPD Officer Randolph Holder

Hundreds attended a wake in Jamaica on Tuesday for slain NYPD Officer Randolph Holder, whowas shot and killed last Tuesday while responding to a call in East Harlem.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and Mayor Bill de Blasio were in attendance. Holder is the fourth NYPD officer killed in the last 11 months.

More than a thousand mourners are expected to attend Holder’s funeral on Wednesday, set for 3 p.m. at theGreater Allen A. M. E. Cathedral in Jamaica, Queens.

On Tuesday, Tyrone Howard, who is accused of fatally shooting Holder in the head, was indicted on murder charges.

Howard, 30, was in a Manhattan court, but his appearance was waived in the courtroom by his lawyer, Michael Hurwitz.

Howard will be arraigned on Nov. 24.

Holder is expected to be buried in his native Guyana on Saturday.
