Where to find Mets-themed food, drinks and game-day specials

Game 1 of the World Series between the New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals begins tonight, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants serving something extra special on game days.

In addition to showing all the games on its two large projector screens, several ofGotham West Market‘stenants are offering specials during games.El Colmadowill have sliders made withalbóndigas (lamb meatballs);Evelyn’s Kitchenis baking a blue and orange Mets-themed cake;Ample Hills Creamerywill serve theirParty Like It’s 1986Mets-themed flavor (kettle corn ice cream with chocolate-covered peanut brittle and blue and orange M&M’s, served in a mini Mets baseball hat).

Forget hot dogs and get toBill’s Bar & Burger (Downtown, Meatpacking, Rockefeller Center) for theAmazin’ Burger: two patties with smoked bacon and sharp cheddar cheese, served on a glazed Dough doughnut “for their sweet playing, of course!” ($12) and$8 can/$35 bucket of five 16-oz. cans of Queens Brewery beers.

Dewey’s Pubin Midtown West has$5 Daniel Murphy’s Stoutpints,$25 Bud or Bud Light buckets, which come withtwo hot dogs, or get one of three sizes ($5/half pint, $6/American pint, $8/imperial pint) of beer enhanced withblue or orange food coloringduring games.

Southwestern comfort food spotCowgirlin the West Village created a special cocktail in honor of the Mets.The Les Gomez Margarita starts with ablood orange frozen margarita, then layers on Blue Curacao and Sauza tequila. The drink is available only during games.

The Theater District’sFrames Bowling Loungeis offering half off all drafts (15 on tap, including craft beers) from first pitch to last, and there will also be giveaways and free Mets swag.

Head toAmerican WhiskeyinMidtown with over 200 whiskeys on offer for game day fun with $5 Single Cut drafts, $19.86 for two shots of Widow Jane and $18 Bud Light buckets (cans).

Queens is the Mets’ home, so head to Leaf Bar & Lounge in Flushing to watch the games on two large-screen TVs while sipping on their specialty cocktails honoring the team’s star players. All of the drinks are $8 beginning at 5 p.m. through the end of each game:

The official hotel of Major League Baseball recruited chef Andrew Carmellini to create a baseball-themed dish for theSheraton New York Times Square: the cheese dog with beerkraut, apple and spicy mustard. Also available during games are a soft pretzel with Emmentaler fondue, blue crab hushpuppies and green chili corndogs.
