Bookstore bites the dust

One of Halifax’s last independent bookstores, Outside the Lines, has turned the page on business. The Quinpool Road location, which opened in 2006, shut its doors for good this past Wednesday. In recent years the city has lost several literary mainstays, including Frog Hollow Books and The Book Room. Several independent bookstores across Canada have closed this year as big box outlets and online sales continue to cut into already-small profit margins.
