Children’s hospital patients perform Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’

Kids, parents, doctors and staff at a New Hampshire children’s hospital created an inspirational music video for Katy Perry’s “Roar” that is sure to leave you a little choked up.

The video, which was released on Monday, shows the young patients of the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) lip-syncing and dancing to lyrics such as:

“I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire, cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar.”

Though the children face enormous challenges, their smiles and dance moves are proof that they are fighters, and they know how to have fun.

The video was created as a tribute to those who supported the CHaD HERO Half Marathon & Ripcord 5K, which raised $650,000 on Sunday.

“Thanks to you, all of these kids and thousands more just like them can also keep roaring!” the hospital posted on its fundraiser’s Facebook page.

Response to the video has been so overwhelming that the hospital has created a donation page for those who want to help support the kids. All donations will be matched by the nonprofit group, Positive Tracks.
