Shots rang out in a north end Dartmouth neighbourhood last night.
Halifax Regional Police were called to Nova Court in Dartmouth near Wyse Road and Boland Drive just before 8:30 p.m. after residents reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Police spokesman Sgt. Don Moser said last night they don’t know of any injuries in relation to the gunfire. He said officers were on scene throughout the evening talking to witnesses in the area, which is home to apartments and townhouses behind the Dartmouth Shopping Centre.
“We have our forensic investigative unit on scene,” he said.
“We know it’s multiple shots fired from a firearm, but we don’t have an exact number.”
Moser said the investigation team had detained a female in relation to the shooting, but he knew of no arrests being made.
A police K-9 unit was brought in to help look for bullet fragments near the scene of the shooting.
