Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival celebrates 13 years

Celebrate a piece of Edmonton’s multicultural heritage with the Dragon Boat Festival this weekend, as 52 teams paddle along 400 metres of the North Saskatchewan River.

Explore the numerous environmentally friendly products, ideas and practices showcased, grab a drink at the beer garden, take in the singers and dancers, witness the traditional Buddhist blessing of the boats, and sit back and enjoy the excitement.

The festival is celebrating its 13th season as Alberta’s largest festival and competition event with the theme Lucky 13, which includes 13 performers, and Lucky 13 T-shirts designed by one of the festival’s paddlers.

Festival activities will take place in Louise McKinney Riverfront Park from Friday to Sunday.
