Elton John is returning to Laramie, Wyo., a decade after he performed at a memorial show for a gay university student who was tied to a fence and beaten to death.
Elton John announced Tuesday he will perform April 3 at the Arena-Auditorium on the University of Wyoming campus. Proceeds will benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation, named in honour of the University of Wyoming student whose beating death sparked international headlines for its brutality.
John told the audience at the show 10 years ago the United States is a big country and should have enough room for all people.
