Shimmering beads, ostrich feathers, intricate hand-painted lace and cascading ruffles all made appearances. Yet look past the melange of embellishments and another theme jumps out: the tango between the sporty and the feminine.
Black-leather strips toughened up breezy, printed dresses; sinuous shawl-like lapels softened sharp tuxedo jackets; and the finale of chiffon evening gowns had athletic tank bodices. Visual overload? Yes. But street-style stars need something to peacock in.
