The beleaguered boss of Fox News will reportedly be leaving the station and making a cool $40 million after being slammed with accusations of sexual harassment by top female anchors at the network, reports said Tuesday.
Ailes was reportedly told to leave by Aug. 1 or be fired, as top anchor Megyn Kelly recently joined former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson in saying she was sexually harassed by Ailes.
On Tuesday afternoon a variety of sources began reporting Ailes, 76, would leave immediately in return for a $40 million payout, as the Republican National Convention prepares to nominate Donald Trump for president.
But it's unclear if the agreement has been inked or is just up in the air.
21st Century Fox told the Daily Beast the agreement for Ailes to leave is still being evaluated.
"Roger is at work. The review is ongoing. And the only agreement that is in place is his existing employment agreement," Fox said in the statement.
An investigation was undertaken into Ailes' conduct after Carlson filed a lawsuit accusing Ailes of retaliating against her after she refused his advances.
