Serial bank robber sought

Ottawa police are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for multiple bank robberies.

Around 5:05 p.m. on May 27, police said the Scotiabank branch at 3310 McCarthy Dr. was robbed after a suspect passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, but a dye-pack exploded outside the bank, resulting in some of the money being recovered nearby by police.

The suspect may have sustained burns as a result of the dye-pack exploding, and likely would have had red dye covering his clothing.

Police are seeking a tanned, 5-4 male between 20 and 30 years old, with a stocky build. He was unshaven with long side burns wearing an army green baseball cap, a black and red jacket, with a red circular logo on the back.
