Sexy dress code spurs complaint

Karolina Bil, a former bartender, has filed a human rights complaint against the Shark Club Richmond claiming gender-based discrimination.

Her complaint alleges that female employees were required to do their hair and makeup with “class and sex appeal” and that the most attractive servers were given the best shifts.

In response to the complaint, the Shark Club denied it discriminated against anyone and that if Bil felt that way, she failed to raise any issues.

The human rights hearing takes place April from next 19 to 21.
