Designer Christian Siriano — known for his ferocious attitude and dramatic gowns — has unveiled his first fragrance, Silhouette, with a 16-day pop-up perfume shop located at 402 West 13th Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District — just in time for Fashion Week.
“It’s powerful and romantic,” says the “Project Runway” alum at the launch Tuesday evening, citing sweet florals like jasmine and freesia and musky sandalwood and moss as his main ingredients.
“All my clothes are about celebrating women — their bodies, their silhouette — and I wanted my first fragrance to do that too.” Among his muses: his mother (“she chooses a different fragrance every day to match her outfit and mood — I love that!”) and campaign star Coco Rocha, who arrived to the party fresh off a plane from Turkey wearing a 1950s-style black-and-white shift from Siriano’s Fall 2014 collection.
As on whether she’ll be rocking the scent during Fashion Week, “I will if I ever get a sample!” she jests. “Can you believe he hasn’t given me one yet?”
