These up-and-coming models could make it big

The modeling industry is big business.

So selecting the girls who are likely to be the future faces of major campaigns is, to say the least, a difficult task.

We asked some of the top agencies in New York and London to predict the girls who will become the next big runway and magazine cover stars.

Here are the top five models who you will be seeing everywhere in the year’s ahead.

Simona Andrejic

Agency: Marilyn

Where you’ve seen her: On the runways of Calvin Klein, Chloé, DKNY and Dolce & Gabbana to name a few.

Why she’s going to be bigger than big: “Simona had incredible momentum last season and will be carrying it into the upcoming months. Look for her in the autumn/winter ’10 D&G campaign,” says her agent Dean Rodgers.

Lais Ribeiro

Agency: Women

Where you’ve seen her: Stomping the catwalk for Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Versace, among many others.

Why she’s going to be bigger than big: “Lais Ribeiro stars in two major fall campaigns: The Gap and Ralph Lauren Collection. Not to mention she was the breakout star of the fall ’10 shows and will do even better for spring/summer ’11,” says agent James Tinnelly.

Julia Nobis

Agencies: Elite NY and Premier

Where you’ve seen her: Working it in the Calvin Klein, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Dries van Noten, Christopher Kane and Celine shows.

Why she’s going to be bigger than big: “(Julia) shot for British Vogue with (photographer) Jacob Sutton; Italian Vogue with (photographer) Steven Meisel and i-D with (photographer) Will Davidson. She’s the antidote to the glamorous and feminine curvy girls that appeared in the autumn/winter shows last February,” says agent Annie Wilshaw.

Jeneil Williams

Agency: Premier

Where you’ve seen her: Walking in the Burberry Prorsum, Giles, Topshop and Vivienne Westwood shows.

Why she’s going to be bigger than big: “She’s been shot for i-D magazine and Love magazine covers. She’s a strong woman with an air of Grace Jones. Super chic. You’ve got to see her at the castings to know what I mean,” says Wilshaw.

Nina Porter

Agency: Select

Where you’ve seen her: In the autumn/winter ’10 Burberry Prorsum campaign and in the July edition of American Vogue among others.”

Why she’s going to be bigger than big: “She has something totally unique in her personality and look. This means that her shoots are exceptionally strong and emotive. She has another big campaign under her belt which we will reveal soon,” says Susannah Hooker.
