Top five places to meet a royal in the UK

Kate met William at university. Now we give a rundown of the best places
to win over a British royal prince or princess.

Royal Ascot horse races
The perfect place to meet a prince or a princess is the Royal Ascot. Each year in the third week of June, the famous five-day race takes place on Ascot Racecourse, and you can spot most members of the royal family including the queen. Remember to wear your best and most extravagant hat for the event.

A British university
William and Kate met while they were studying at St. Andrew’s University, and this is a great way to meet someone in the royal family. You still have the chance with Princess Eugenie who is currently studying English and art history at Newcastle University and Princess Beatrice who is finishing a degree in history this year from Goldsmiths, University of London.

London nightclubs
The young British royals have been spotted in fancy nightclubs around London. A good venue to spot a prince is Mahiki; the Mayfair club has a large celebrity clientele and both Prince Harry and William have been seen here. Raffles and Boujis are two of the prince’s other favorite clubs, however, we recommend Whisky Mist, an exclusive club in London with members ranging from royals Harry, William, Beatrice and Eugenie to celebrities including Matt Damon, Paris Hilton and Madonna.

‘The’ Polo
If you are not familiar with polo, now might be the right time to learn more about the royal sport. Both Prince Harry and William enjoy playing charity polo matches and the members of the royal family often show up on the sideline to show their support. One of the hottest tickets of the British ‘Season’ is the invite-only Cartier Polo at Guards Polo Club in July. You can show up to a charity polo match or maybe create one yourself, in order to increase your chances of meeting a prince or two.

Madame Tussauds
If you can’t meet the real deal, there is always the wax option: In Madame Tussauds in London you always get the chance to meet William, Harry, Diana, Charles, Camilla and Queen Elizabeth all at once. It won’t get you closer to a royal title, but you can get your picture taken and hopefully your friends won’t be able to tell the difference between a royal and their wax copy.
