Woman gets 7 years for shooting

A 41-year-old woman who shot and injured the supervisor of her Gibsons care home has been sentenced to seven years in jail for attempted murder.

Taking into account time served, she’ll spend nearly four years at the Fraser Valley Institution for Women.

Linda Howe shot Ken Perrier during a shooting rampage in March 2009.

She was being evicted from the home because of what staff called erratic behaviour.

The judge said he took into account Howe’s developmental disability and said she likely wouldn’t re-offend.
