A teenage girl overdosed on heroin last weekend, and her dad is now in jail for supplying the drug to her, police said.
Kerry Long, 35, of Ephrata, was charged with aggravated assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and heroin possession for allegedly giving his 16-year-old daughter the drugs. He's currently held on $1 million bail, 6ABC reported.
According to Lancaster police, the teen survived, but only after four doses of the anti-overdose drug Naloxone were adminstered. The girl's grandmother called 911, and when police found her, she was lying on the ground unconscious, Lancaster Online reported. She was taken to an area hospital for further treatment and observation.
The teen told police her father gave her the drugs after she asked for them, and Long reportedly admitted to police he had bought heroin and gave two bags of it to his daughter.
Long was taken into custody on an unrelated bench warrant stemming from charges in March of conspiracy to commit burglary. He's being held at Lancaster County Prison, unable to meet bail.
