With the Pope slated to visit Philadelphia in just over a month, Eagles fans took the the web with a petition to have Francis bless perhaps the most important object in Phillly this fall -- Sam Bradford's knee.

With more than 1,500 fans signing the petition as of Tuesday afternoon, the quarterback himself couldn't help but find himself intrigued.

"I haven't seen that but I was told about it before I came to talk to you guys," the quarterback said to interested members of the media after Eagles training camp Tuesday. "If I got to meet the Pope, I guess that would be pretty cool. If he wanted to bless my knee I would be fine with that."

Bradford, of course, is in the midst of a comeback from his second torn ACL. And the health of his knee is key for the Eagles as they prepare to begin their preseason slate of games Sunday at home against the Colts.

One hang up does exist though. The Eagles will be in New York to face the Jets when the Pope is in town. But some creative scheduling could make the blessing a possibility.

As the petition reads: The Pope is coming to Philly! Our city! With this Eagles season coming up, a lot of our Super Bowl hopes rely on Sam Bradford's knees staying healthy. So, with one of the most religious representatives in the world visiting our wonderful place we call home, how about we get him to bless Bradford's knees during his visit to Philly! This town deserves a Super Bowl, and a healthy Bradford is the only way we will have a parade down Broad Street! Please sign this petition and Go Eagles and Welcome to Philly, Pope Francis!!!!
