A Philadelphia man who was pulled over by state police for erratic driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike responded by raising a gun to his head and killing himself.
Emmanuel Giddings, Jr., 22, shot himself in the head on Friday after being pulled over in Bear Creek Township, the Times Leader reported.
State police said Giddings was spotted after troopers saw his 2001 Chevy Impala driving in the turnpike's northbound lane in an "erratic manner" around 10:32 p.m. Friday.
When a trooper asked Giddings to get out of the vehicle for a sobriety test, he pulled out a handgun and shot himself in the head, according to the Times Leader. Police found unspecified "illegal drugs" in Giddings' car.
