Philadelphia police have identified the three people killed in a high-speed crash Wednesday along SandemeyerRoad that split a car in two after it hit a tree.

Yvette Gonzalez, 17, of the 700 block of Rhawn Street,17-year-oldSabrina Rhoadsof the 100 block of Newberry Street, and 20-year-oldFelip Hernandez, of Medford, New Jersey were killed in the devastating crash.

Two other people were injured in the crash. A 17-year-old boy was flown to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and is listed in critical condition. The driver was taken by private vehicle to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Police say the 20-year-old driver of a 2007 Acura lost control of his car after it hit a curb while he was traveling at speeds in excess of 75 miles per hour.

The car hit a tree, ejecting the Rhoads and Gonzalez. The car was split in half from the hood almost to the trunk.

Police are investigating whether drag racing may have been a factor.
