Police are searching for a man who they say attacked a Philadelphia police officer in East Oak Lane, ABC Philly reported.
The incident reportedly happened early Wednesday morning around 12:40 a.m. on the 100 block of East Godfrey Avenue.
Officers were responding to a complaint about a domestic disturbance and an armed man when they found a 24-year-old man to be combative and non-compliant, according to Philly.com.
“Police say when an officer tried to frisk him, the suspect punched the officer in the face and pushed the officer over a railing,” ABC Philly reported.
The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen near North Front Street and Godfrey Avenue.
The officer was taken to Einstein Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Police reportedly know who the suspect is, but have not released his identity.
