Hawthornes, that unusual combo of popular brunch spot and craft beer shop, is celebrating the season — and seasonal brews — with a Fall Festival Block Party on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. The street will be closed to cars, so you can spend the afternoon lounging on hay bales, taking selfies with scarecrows, listening to live music and indulging in pumpkin beers (plus ciders and other autumnal sips). It’s free to get in, and all the beers will be $5, cash only. If your pumpkin craving hasn’t been sated by day’s end, reserve a seat at Hawthornes’ Pumpkin Beer Dinner on Nov. 15. For $70, spend a leisurely Sunday evening digging into four courses paired with five pumpkin beers.

How sweet do you like your pumpkin? Cuba Libre in Old City is doing a Pumpkin Spice Cafe: Cuban coffee with steamed coconut milk, pumpkin spice syrup, sugar and cinnamon for $5. Add a dessert, like the Tres Leches or the Cuban flan, for $10 total. On a cold night out on the town, skip the iced cocktail and go for this warming drink with a shot of spiced rum instead.

Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery

Pastry chef Melissa Stout-Greiner at Barren Hill is the lone soul who doesn’t like pumpkin pie. But she put one on the menu for the masses anyway, giving it a spice cookie crust and a piece of pumpkin seed brittle. The story goes that it was so good, the brewers decided to make a beer based off it, and Barren Hill Mel’s Pumpkin Pie ($5.50) was born. The pumpkin ale is made with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and brown sugar. It’s also available — alongside Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela, Terrapin Brewing Cranberry Pumpkinfest and others — at Devil’s Den in South Philly (11th and Ellsworth).

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant

Iron Hill’s Pumpkin Ale, only available in the fall, is made with pumpkin pie spices and vanilla (and everything nice) instead of finishing hops. Through Nov. 25, the restaurant is doing a take-out special that has game day written all over it: Pick up a four-pack of Pumpkin Ale cans and either two pizzas or 20 wings for $25. If you’re going for wings, you can keep it classic with Buffalo, or try the Pumpkin Sriracha version.

The overindulging of the holidays is on the horizon, but you’ll feel like you’re doing something healthy just perusing the list of organic, plant-based, gluten-free, kosher and vegan offerings at this Rittenhouse Square cafe. The fall menu includes a pumpkin smoothie ($8.95), blended with banana, cinnamon, cardamom, nut milk and ice.
