It looks like t-shirt time could be getting the ol’ switch-a-roo for Jersey Shore’s most bedazzled cast member.
In a statement, clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch offered Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino what it calls a “win-win situation.” The company will actually pay him to not wear its clothes. It’s a little surprising, too, considering Abercrombie and Fitch has raised plenty of eyebrows in the past with its scantily clad models and thongs for tweens. The company said, though, “The Situation” might be doing its label more harm than good.
“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans,” an Abercrombie & Fitch spokesperson said. “We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”
Now, THAT’S a situation…. (sorry, we had to).
