There was some news leaked Tuesday on the quietest coaching search in sports. The Sixers reportedly received permission to interview Chicago Bulls assistant Ed Pinckney.
Pinckney hasn't interviewed with the team yet, according to ESPN. The Sixers also reached out to another Bulls assistant, Adrian Griffin. GM Sam Hinkie has completed background checks on both candidates.
Pinckney would be the flashier of the two potential hires having starred at Villanova. He helped guide the No. 8 Wildcats over No. 1 Georgetown in one of the greatest upsets in NCAA history. Pinckney was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four in 1985.
The team is also expected to interview current Sixers assistant Michael Curry, along with Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga.
