Paralyzed Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand is “in good spirits” and “very aware of what’s going on,” coach Greg Schiano said yesterday.

The junior suffered a spinal cord injury making a tackle in the Scarlet Knights’ game against Army on Saturday.

“Your prayers matter, and all our prayers matter,” Schiano said. “We believe that Eric’s going to recover, and that’s our approach. And that’s his approach.”
