Welcome back to the Oscars, Billy Crystal

All is right in the world again: Billy Crystal will return to his post as host of the Oscars.

Crystal announced he will take on the duties after Eddie Murphy stepped down.

After the drama from last week, we were terrified the Academy Awards would just pick James Franco and Anne Hathaway again. Now that’s a disaster no one wants to repeat.

“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show,” Crystal tweeted.

The last time Crystal hosted the Oscars was in 2004.

“Some of the best moments of my career have happened on the Oscar stage. I am thrilled to be back here,” he said in a statement.

The Academy Awards had a turbulent week. Producer Brett Ratner stepped down on Monday after using a derogatory work for homosexuals.

Brian Grazer will replace Ratner as the producer.
