Watch this convict sing an apology in court

A convicted felon probably didn’t plan to become Internet famous after he sang an apology song in an Ann Arbor, Michigan, court earlier this week, MLive reported.

Brian Earl Taylor, 21, who was found guilty of illegally carrying a concealed weapon and unlawful imprisonment, was sentenced to two years for one charge and 18 months to 15 years in prison for the second, reports said.

At his sentencing Taylor broke out into song which both MLive and CBS report as being similar to Adele’s “Hello,” but to Metro sounds a lot more like Lionel Richie’s “Hello.”

“Hello there, your honor,” Taylor sang. “I want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve done and I’ll try and be stronger in this life I chose, but I want you to know — that door, I closed. And your honor I’m sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.”

When Taylor finished his performance the judge said Taylor was “obviously a talented young man.”

What do you think? Is this more Adele or Lionel Richie?
