Mr. Hot Wing, a standard goldfish, was having trouble breathing and eating.
He was taken to Lehigh Valley Veterinary Dermatology, and they discovered that he was born without a lower jaw bone; therefore, his mouth wasn't able to stay open.
Dr. Brian Palmeiro researched the condition and performed a surgery to open Mr. Hot Wing's mouth. Palmeiro, now also known as the fish doctor, told ABC News that he created a custom brace made from a plastic credit card.
According to ABC News, the whole surgery cost about $150.
Lehigh Valley Veterinary Dermatology posted the photo on their Facebook page on March 18 and described Mr. Hot Wing's story. The post has gone viral with over 400 likes so far.
