Summer is over. Gambling season is here.
There’s money to be made when it comes to NFL season win total over / unders, which will surely fluctuate this week. So if you see a number you like, jump on it now or forever hold your peace.
Patriots 10.5 – over
If you can get the Pats at 10.5, ride it all day. The last time the Patriots were put through the national wringer like this, they went 16-0 in the regular season. Bulletin board material doesn’t work great with grown men, but this is for sure – Bill Belichick will never, ever have to make up motivational B.S. out of thin air again after what transpired this past off-season. Since 2001, the Patriots have grabbed at least 11 wins each season – save for 2002 (9-7), 2005 (10-6) and 2009 (10-6). They have gone 12-4 in each of the past three seasons.
Giants – 8.5 – under
The face of the Giants offense (Eli Manning) is delusional. The face of the Giants defense (Jason Pierre-Paul) will find it hard to play the piano and swipe left on Tinder for the rest of his life. The head coach of the Giants is older than David Letterman. This is far from a playoff team.
Falcons 8.5 – over
Things obviously change overnight in the NFL and harkening back to the 2012 season is not something you should do too often when you’re about to wager a paycheck. But Matt Ryan led his team to a 13-3 record three years back. Things bottomed out in 2013, as Atlanta went 4-12 and expectations were high for a bounceback season in 2014. The Falcons didn’t entirely flip the script last year, but they did improve – going 6-10. Ryan turned 30-years-old this year – the definition of a prime year for an NFL QB. New head coach Dan Quinn has already done a fine job of revamping the Atlanta D. Roll the dice with the Falcons.
