2019 MTV Video Music Awards: Date, list of performers, nominees, winners

The 2019 Video Music Awards is right around the corner and the list of nominees and performers are in.

The 2019 MTV VMAs is set to take place August 26 at 8 p.m. EST. This year the VMAs makes history as it will be the first time the show will be held  at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Actor and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco is set to host his year’s VMAs.

Below is a list of performers and nominees for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

2019 MTV VMAs nominations

Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift lead the 2019 MTV VMAs with 10 nominations each and will also go against each other for Video of the Year and Song of the Year and Best Pop song.

Billie Eilish has nine VMA nominations and Lil Nas X is nominated for eight. Both young artists are up for the “Best New Artist” award this year. It should be interesting to see how many VMA’s Lil Nas X gets for his hit single “Old Town Road” 

Missy Elliot will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. In June she became the first female rapper to be inducted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
