Boston Yoga Union, an independently-owned yoga studio, will have three free daily classes from Monday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 1. This is in anticipation of their official opening on Saturday, Feb. 2. This week, Boston Yoga Union offers a variety of classes, such as: Flow, Sweat, Advance and Sound Mediation. As for the grand opening weekend, Boston Yoga Union will celebrate with free kombucha, tea samplings and a giveaway for one free month of yoga! This awesome promotion is happening every day of the week until the grand opening, so you could say their schedule is flexible. Wherever there is Carole King, we will follow where she leads. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical begins on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Boston Opera House. This Broadway musical tells the story of the early life and career of King, along with the songs she wrote. By the time she was in her 20s, she was already in the music industry, married Garry Goffin and was writing hits for the biggest names in rock n’roll. Inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s classic A Doll’s House, this imagined sequel to the original is a true examination of a women’s role in America. Feminist Unite! This play follows Nora, 15 years after Doll House ended. After walking out on her marriage and her children, she returns to ask for help. Now a successful but scandalous writer, she’s blackmailed by a judge. But before her family helps her, they raise some complaints. This hilarious Tony nominated play is definitely worth getting out of bed. This is the last opportunity to see it at the Huntington Theatre, as it is ending, so it is only showing through the Jan. 31. But hey, you might not be into acting and music and yoga. We get it. The Grand is hosting Steve Aoki, the acclaimed electro house DJ. Aoki has collaborated with will.i.am, LMFAO, Fall out Boy, Louis Tomlinson and blink-182. In 2013, Aoki received a Grammy nomination, and has won many awards since then. It’s a tense time in America right now, so we all may need a laugh.
