8 Smoking cocktails perfect for Halloween

I cannot believe Halloween is this week! 

Halloween is in a few days, and what better way to celebrate than with some spooky and smoky cocktails. This week, BOOze and brews are all about cocktails that will get you in the spirit of Halloween. 

When I think about Halloween drinks, I think bright colors, and I think smoking items, like a potion class. So, I’ve rounded up a few cocktails that totally belong at a school for witches and wizards. Not only do these drinks taste good, but they are also social-media friendly. 

If you’re looking for a smoking good cocktail this Halloween, here are eight cocktails that smoke:  

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice at Ocean Prime

This spooky special is a partnership between BEETLEJUICE and Ocean Prime. The drink is only available during October and is inspired by its namesake. The drink features melon liqueur, rum, lime juice, pineapple juice, and Orgeat Syrup. The cocktail is tropical and cream with a fun smoky effect.

Smoking Rye Old Fashioned at Fine & Rare

There’s nothing quite like an old fashioned. It’s a classic, and throwing smoke into the mix gives the classic a modern edge. With this old fashioned, you have some choices to make; you can choose Westland Single Malt or Knob Creek Rye. The drink will also include demerara, orange oil, and Angostura bitters. Last but certainly not least, you can actually choose your smoke, the options are Pecan, Applewood, Cherrywood, Hickory, Maple, and Bourbon oak. The possibilities are endless.

Purple Noon at 701 West

This cocktail looks a scientific experiment gone right or blood. This vibrant red cocktail was inspired by a moonshine drink. The drink has rum, moonshine, black current, and smoked beet in it. The smoke in this comes from dry ice. The drink has a smoky note to it due to the roasted beets added to it.

Cold Brew Black Russian at Strip House

If you prefer caffeine to Halloween candy, this is your dream drink. This caffeinated cocktail includes Tito’s Handmade Vodka, demerara syrup, cold brew coffee, and black cherry. It’s a fun and festive update to a black Russian, the coffee adds a slight edge to the drink, but the other ingredients have a subtle sweetness making it a dream for cocktail lovers.

Saeng-Gang Mist at Windrose

If you prefer to pretend you’re at a school of witchcraft and wizardry, the Saeng-gang mist is a great match for you. This drink looks like you’re having a magical, bubbling brew. The cocktail includes sherry, vermouth, ginger, cinnamon, prosecco, and ginger-spiced tea smoke. This drink tastes like a sweeter tea with a savory hint, to balance it out.

The Stormy Night at Aviary 

This cocktail is perfect for exactly what it sounds like a stormy night or just a day when you’re dreaming of summer. This drink includes rum, lime juice, ginger snow, and liquid nitrogen smoke. This cocktail is refreshing and perfect for the gram’.

Ophelia’s Ascension at Ophelia Lounge NYC 

This drink is great for those who like to be a little extra when it comes to a presentation. This drink includes mezcal infused with smoked Jamaican peppers, makers mark, palm sugar, aromatic bitters, cedar smoke, activated charcoal, citrus. This drink is inspired by Hamlet’s Ophelia using the mezcal and bourbon as leading flavors.

Ode to Mullica at The Cauldron NYC

If you want to travel to a world full of magicians this Halloween, the Ode to Mullica is the perfect drink for you. The cocktail is an ode to a famous magician who was famous for making lit cigarettes disappear and reappear. The drink has rye whiskey, maple, and allspice dram. This cocktail promises to be smoky, spiced, slightly sweet, and of course, boozy.
