A man was sent to hospital in critical condition and a Toronto woman faces drunk-driving charges after she allegedly drove her car over a curb, travelled along a center median designed for streetcars, crashed into a switchbox, injured a passenger and then walked away from the scene.
Emergency crews were called to The Queensway, east of High Street near Park Lawn Road. around 10 p.m. Sunday after they received reports that a vehicle had lost control, said Const. Mig Roberts of Toronto police traffic services. They found a male passenger with massive head injuries, said Roberts.
Sarah Morissette, 33, of Toronto, was arrested a short distance from the scene. She is charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving over 80 and failing to stop at the scene of an accident that caused bodily harm.
