We’ve waxed poetic at length about Alden & Harlow’s Secret Burger in the past, but it’s just once-a-year that Chef Michael Scelfo’s Harvard outpost can out-burg itself. A follow-up to 2015’s $175 New Year’s Eve edition, the 2016 Baller Burger is a more cost-friendly experience, coming in at $95 for the meaty meal and a French 75 to wash it all down.
The Baller Burger comes with bone marrow whip, shaved white truffles, Beton’s double-smoked bacon and lobster — and as it goes, will be only sold during New Year’s Eve service until its gone (forever). The Baller accompanies the evening’s a la carte service, with some swanky specials for the holiday, including a seared A5 Kobe with black truffle and pickled walnuts and roast pork shanks with turnip gnocchi and wild mushroom brodo.
Alden & Harlow (40 Brattle St, Cambridge) will be open regular dinner service on New Year’s Eve, but reservations are recommended. A limited number of Baller Burgers will be first come, first served.
