Alleged pimp in jail after preying on drug-addicted women

1993 murder

A Boston man accused of pimping out multiple women after he got them addicted to drugs is in jailWednesday, authorities said.

Prosecutors allege Hendricks Mario Berdet, 31, supplied at least six women with drugs, including heroin and cocaine, in exchange for engaging in commercial sexual activity for his personal profit.

An investigation revealed that Berdet allegedly distributed the drugs to the women, posted advertisements on websites known to advertise sexual services, and transported the women to various homes and hotels in locations including Boston, Brookline, Newton, and Waltham, where they would engage in sexual acts for a fee.

The women allegedly gave all of the money they received for performing sexual acts to Berdet, who required the women to reach a certain quota of each night, usually between $1,000 and $1,500. Berdet also allegedly took the victims’ identification or bank cards in some cases.

“We allege that this defendant preyed on vulnerable women, supplied them with addictive drugs and personally profited off of their sexual exploitation,” Attorney General Maura Healey said. “As we work to combat the opioid epidemic that is plaguing our state, we are seeing more and more women with addiction issues being preyed upon for illegal purposes.”

Berdet, also known as “Capo,” “Supa Capo,” and “Supa Mario,” was arrested Tuesday nightin Medford and charged with six counts of trafficking in persons for sexual servitude, and two counts each of distribution of heroin and cocaine.

Berdet pleaded not guilty in Boston Municipal Court and his bail was set at $150,000 cash, with the condition that have no contact with the victims or witnesses in the case and be monitored by GPS. He is being held for 60 days on a bail revocation based on a separate open drug case. He is due back in court on March.
