Another trooper victim of DUI?

BOSTON. State police are looking to supplement night patrols to combat impaired and reckless driving after yet another trooper was injured when he was struck this weekend by an alleged drunken driver.

Trooper Corey Rose, 33, a four-year veteran, pulled a car over about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 24 in Taunton when a Bridgewater man crashed into the back of the cruiser Rose was sitting in.

Matthew Charette, 24, was charged with drunken driving. State police said working on the side of the road is dangerous enough when drivers are sober, but their job becomes “ripe for tragedy” when drivers are impaired.
