Bernard’s status a game-time decision

Halifax Mooseheads winger Jessyko Bernard is a “maybe” for tonight’s road game against the Moncton Wildcats.

The 17-year-old rookie has missed the past four games with a groin injury and will be a game-time decision. His 10 goals and 10 assists in 39 games would be a welcome addition to a team in desperate need of secondary scoring. Top-scoring defenceman Justin Pender is expected to miss at least three more games with a knee injury. Rookie goaltender Mathieu Corbeil, meanwhile, has mostly recovered from a hand injury and should be ready for a start soon. He hasn’t gotten the nod since Jan. 4.

The Mooseheads, 13-28-2-2, lost 6-4 to the Wildcats on Sunday, and have a 1-6 record in the season series.
