The Big East is apparently going to be getting a lot bigger.
The conference is inviting three new football-only members and three new all-sport members, according to online reports today.
That’s cool. The Big East is hurting, and it badly needs some new blood.
So, which eastern schools are big enough?
Central Florida, for one. Fine — the Atlantic Ocean is about as east as it gets.
Navy’s there, too. Annapolis, Md. — East, once more.
Who else?
Air Force … in Colorado.
Boise State … in Idaho.
And SMU and Houston … in Texas.
Maybe it’s time to give up on the geographic conference names, guys?
