Six years in and the Calgary International Blues festival line-up is stronger than ever, according to officials.
The six-day festival kicks off today and will feature 33 artists, including 25 from around the world, and will take places at several venues across the city, including Olympic Plaza and Shaw Millennium Park.
“We’re very excited. We have a killer line-up and we think we have a great blend of local artists and artists from all over the world,” producer Cindy McLeod said.
McLeod expects about 25,000 blues enthusiasts to take in the festival and expects many will enjoy headliners like David Clayton-Thomas, Juno winner Lester Quitzau and MonkeyJunk.
Tickets are available online at www.calgarybluesfest.com and kids under 12 are free.
