Mitch Joel is no new kid on the blog, having trotted the speakers circuit way before publishing Six Pixels of Separation. In fact, Six Pixels was the name of the blog for his Montreal-based digital agency Twist Image.
“All of this stuff happened because of social media” said Joel. “Websites are dying … and we need to start seeing ourselves as publishers and content producers.”
Joel acknowledges that the mindset of larger companies is going to have to change, especially when it comes to letting consumers or customers interact publicly with their brands or products. Joel’s book is a captivating look at how our world and how we interact has changed dramatically. Now with even more relevancy — given Facebook just in the past week surpassed Yahoo and is now the No. 2 website for online traffic. Six Pixels is Joel’s recipe for “connecting your business to everyone.”
