Boston keeps on truckin’

As part of a growing trend started in April, Mayor Thomas Menino announced yesterday 15 food trucks will be coming to more than a dozen new permanent locations across the city.

As part of the deal for opening their truck doors, vendors must offer at least one healthy item on their menu that doesn’t include fried food, fake sugar or trans fat.

Hungry Hub-goers can find new food trucks in Back Bay, Bay Village, South End, Fenway, Kenmore/BU, Dorchester, the South Boston Waterfront, and the Charlestown Navy Yard.

Boston’s Food Truck program, unlike other cities, has designated permanent spots on city streets.
