Boston police warn of attacks on female students in Allston

Five female students in Allston have been attacked in recent weeks, prompting Boston police to issue a community alert.

The man is targeting women wearing skirts, police said. During the attacks, the man pushes the women to the ground and uses his phone to take a photo under the victim’s skirt.

Five female students have been attacked in the past six weeks. The attacks have occurred between midnight and 2 a.m. in the area of Ashford Street in Allston, not far from the Boston University campus.

The most recent attack occurred Nov. 6.

Police described the suspect as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man between the ages of 19 and 30. He has a thin or average build.

Anyone with information can call 617-343-4256 or text “tip” to 27463 (crime).

Police also urged women walking in the area at night to use caution. People should avoid walking alone at night if possible and be aware of their surroundings. People should walk with confidence and carry a cell phone, but do not become distracted by it, police said.
