Boston ranked second best city for tech startups

A recent report put out by the National Venture Capital Association places Boston as the second best place in the United States for technology startups, according to USA Today.

The Hub is ripe with 700 startups, according to NVCA, and saw $2.77 billion invested in 2011 for 285 companies, however that was no match for San Francisco, which pulled in first place.

Boston still beat out New York city, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., which ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively, according to the report, followed by San Diego, Chicago, Austin, Boulder/Denver and Seattle.

Millennial Branding recently ranked Boston as the fifth best place for “generation Y,” people between the ages of 18 and 29, to work.
