Boston saw first 90-degree day Sunday

Boston saw the hottest day of the summer so far for 2015 on Sunday, with temperatures creeping over the 90-degree mark.

For a city that saw unholy mounds of snow during winter months, it was a welcome scorcher, coming after a few days of weekend warmth.

Conditions were perfect for a spray-park cool-off, an icy patio brew or a step inside anywhere with the sweet chill of central A/C.

The heat was set to turn to showers and isolated thunderstorms Sunday night, then partly cloudy to start the week with highs in the upper 70s. More showers were in the forecast for Tuesday and thunderstorms coming on Wednesday, highs in the mid-70s.
