Police are looking for a gunman who opened fire on Bowdoin Street, striking a boy andNic Czarnecki/Metro

A 7-year-old boy was recovering Monday after he was shot while riding his bicycle in Dorchester Sunday, The Boston Globe reported.


Divan Silva, of Brockton, and a 20-year-old man were shot near Johnny’s Barber Shop on Bowdoin Street, police said.


Silva was was shot in the rear around 4:15 p.m. then taken to Boston Children’s Hospital, where a spokeswoman initially said he was in serious condition.


The man, who remains unidentified, was grazed in the head by the shot and was taken to Boston Medical Center. Police say five bullets were fired in total.


The suspect is still at large, police said. He is described as a man with light complexion wearing a red sweatshirt, standing 5-feet-7. The suspect was on foot when he opened fire.
