Everyone was Irish in Southie on Sunday as the annual St. Patrick's Day parade made its way through the neighborhood.
Mayor Marty Walsh marched in the parade, deciding to attend after parade organizers allowed the group Outvets, an LGBTQ veterans organzation, to march.
As snow fell on parade goers, the parade followed a shortened route this year after officials expressed safety concerns earlier this week about the weather forecast. It began at Broadway Station and followed West and East Broadway, and ended at Farragut Road instead of turning around and heading toward Old Colony Avenue. There was little snow accumlation.
