Boston-area man arrested for 1989 Philadelphia homicide

A Massachusetts man wanted for a 27-year-old Philadelphia homicide was arrested Wednesday and is expected to be returned to Pennsylvania.

Vicheth Prak, 43, was arrested by Lowell police accompanied by Philadelphia detectives, the Boston Globe reported. No specifics on the crime were given other than it being a homicide that took place in 1989.

On Thursday, Prak is to be arraigned in Lowell District Court as a fugitive from justice, WTRF reported in a related article.

Facing the charge of being a fugitive from justice is the first step in returning Prak to Pennsylvania, the Globe added.

A statewide Pennsylvania database of criminal records did not have any information on Prak’s case, according to WTRF.
