Dave Dombrowski is like Santa Claus at this stage of things. The guy only works one day a year, but man is that day a doozy.
Ths Red Sox' boss capped a crazy Tuesday, in which the team landed an ace in Chris Sale and an eighth inning reliever in Tyler Thornburg, by inking first baseman Mitch Moreland. The Gold Glove first baseman agreed to a one-year deal with the Sox, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.
The 31-year-old is expected to get the bulk of work at first base and Hanley Ramirez is expected to see most of his time in the designated hitter role, left behind by David Ortiz.
The left-handed hitting Moreland hit just .233 last season with Texas.
